Welcome to the 9 Oxford Road Service User Group

As a client of 9 Oxford Road you are a member of the Service Users Group. We hope you will wish to come along to participate in our activities or social events in addition to attending the formal programme.

We are an alcohol support service user group based at 9 Oxford Road. The group is run by the users themselves and receives an annual budget from Phoenix Homes Colchester. The group raises additional funds by organising a variety of activities including draws and sponsored events.

Any person who has been accepted to use the facilities at 9 Oxford Road becomes a member of the Service Users Group.

The aims of the group are to:

• Actively promote the interests of all the service users of 9 Oxford Road
• Work closely with the staff of 9 Oxford Road for our joint benefit
• Organise social activities and functions in addition to the more formal sessions provided by staff
• Communicate with members by holding regular meetings, issuing a regular newsletter, via the notice board and by conducting surveys
• Make representations on behalf of its members, both at meetings within Phoenix Homes Colchester, and at meetings with other organisations

We believe that activities of this kind represent a significant step on the road to recovery and want to help our members is this way.
